- Luis Antonio Medina Escobar was selected as the first contest winner, and his work will be featured at ProximityParks Lomas Verdes, on a mural over 400 sqm that faces the important Lomas Verdes Avenue in the metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico.
ProximityParks, the leading and pioneering company in the investment and development of industrial parks for last mile logistics in Mexico, proudly promotes Mexican artistic talent in the first edition of its contest “Muralmente Cerca.” With this contest, the company aims to extend its strategy of urban regeneration and revitalization of spaces through conscious design, sustainable construction practices, and urban art as key elements of social transformation.
In this first edition, artists of various backgrounds participated, from students to emerging Mexican muralists, among whom the winner was selected. Luis Antonio Medina Escobar, with his work “Harmony in Motion,” shared his proposal to depict on a space of over 400 sqm the connection between environmental care and urban logistics, through an image of a child wearing virtual reality glasses riding a hummingbird, symbolizing innovation and speed in a sustainable environment. With vibrant colors, natural elements, and symbols of packaging, Luis Antonio emphasizes the harmony of technology, nature, and logistics to illustrate the coexistence of economic development, modern consumption habits, and the environment. His proposal will adorn a prominent wall at ProximityParks Lomas Verdes, facing Lomas Verdes Avenue, starting in December of this year.
“Winning this contest is extremely important for my growth as an artist, and I’m excited to know that I will leave a mural in a place where many people will see it and engage with the message it conveys. That’s the beauty of urban art and muralism: uniting society through access to art and culture,” said Luis Antonio, the winning urban artist.
“Muralmente Cerca” from ProximityParks reinforces the company’s commitment to being good neighbors, seeking to create a positive impact in the communities where it operates. This first edition, part of what will be an annual contest, aims to transform its logistics parks into spaces that inspire, celebrate creativity, support economic development, and add value to the urban environment.
“Everyone at ProximityParks is proud of the Muralmente Cerca initiative, as our goal has always been to grow responsibly, leaving a positive legacy in the communities where we invest. This mural allows us to do that through art. We are committed to building a more sustainable future and will continue to invest in projects that promote sustainable economic and social development,” said Mario Berlanga, CEO and Co-founder of ProximityParks.
Through its projects and a growing team, ProximityParks has established itself as a leading company in the last mile logistics real estate sector, prioritizing a sustainability focus and seeking to ensure that each project generates a positive impact on its clients and consumers, cities and the environment, and its investors, which the company refers to as “Triple Net Positive.”
The company currently has over 360,000 square meters in its property portfolio, making it the largest and most diverse in the last mile logistics sector.
