ProximityParks, the leading and pioneering company in last mile logistics industrial parks in Mexico, announces the construction start of ProximityParks Viaducto, its 12th last mile logistics industrial park in Mexico. This new property represents a significant milestone in the company’s growth, as it is the first investment of the capital raised through its Investment Fund II, with which they will continue to expand the first, largest, most profitable, and sustainable real estate portfolio in the last mile industry.
The property is strategically located at Viaducto Río de la Piedad 569, less than 5 kilometers from Mexico City’s International Airport, with excellent connectivity to some of the main consumption areas in Mexico City, such as Roma, Condesa, and Del Valle. With an area of 21,346 sqm (229,766 sqf) and a warehouse area of 8,483 sqm (91,310 sqf), this industrial park is designed to optimize last mile operations, reducing delivery times and operational costs.
“We are very proud to add the ProximityParks Viaducto property to our portfolio and thus reaffirm our leadership in the industry. We remain committed to our investors, clients, and the environment to continue developing industrial properties with the highest standards and contributing to the growth of the last mile industry,” commented Mario Berlanga, CEO and Co-founder of ProximityParks.
Along with ProximityParks’ commitment to developing properties with the highest sustainability standards, this new industrial park is a renovation project, reducing the use of new construction materials. It will also feature solar panels, LED lighting, and electric fleet stations, among other features that will help further reduce the complex’s carbon footprint.
ProximityParks Viaducto joins the portfolio of other 11 last mile industrial parks the company owns in Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara, which all together amount to more than 290,000 m² of surface and warehouse area.
Inauguration of the ProximityParks Viaducto Classroom
ProximityParks Viaducto holds a particular importance as we also inaugurated the first classroom on-site, in collaboration with the organization “Construyendo y Creciendo”. This initiative is part of ProximityParks’ social responsibility program and aims to contribute to the personal and professional development of construction workers.
“The goal of the ProximityParks Viaducto Classroom is to promote lifelong learning and digital literacy. Free courses will be offered in it, from literacy to high school education, human development workshops, digital skills, and trades, among others,” added Mario Berlanga.
The classroom will have computer and Internet service, as well as all the basic supplies for learning, facilitating student attendance as the classroom is located within their workplace.
“At ProximityParks, we firmly believe in people’s development and having a positive impact where we operate. We are sure that this project will contribute to the individual and social progress of many workers,” mentioned Maque Taja, Head of People & Culture at ProximityParks.
Through this project, ProximityParks continues to strengthen its positive impact by promoting the development of skills and encouraging educational and cultural opportunities for construction workers.
